It’s the 10^th of August – that means there’s only one month to go until the opening of the European Week of Sport. And that means there are only 31 days until the #BeActive FlashMOVE pops up in cities across Europe on 10 September at 11am CET.

ISCA’s flagship FlashMOVE at the European Week of Sport (EWoS) opening ceremony in Kosice, Slovakia, will be streamed live on the EU’s official EWoS website here http://ec.europa.eu/sport/week/index_en.htm

Other parts of the ceremony that will be live streamed are retro show Spartakiada and the official statements from the local mayor, European Commission, European Parliament, European Olympic Committees and Slovak Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The European Commission selected the FlashMOVE from its Erasmus+ Sport call for non-profit events, including it in the official opening event of the Week. The FlashMOVE draws on three years of experience from the NowWeMOVE campaign, which has used it to create excitement in the lead-up to the MOVE Week. Last year the FlashMOVE took place in 70 cities of 20 countries across Europe, with more than 6,500 dancers having fun while being active.

Want to take part in the #BeActive FlashMOVE? There’s still time

The FlashMOVE will take place all over Europe on September 10, at 11:00 C.E.T, and your role is to gather your community, support your organisers and join the biggest simultaneous flash mob in Europe. The International Sport and Culture Association (ISCA) and our NowWeMOVE campaign officers have developed all the resources you need to create your own #BeActive flash mob. The dance steps were developed by ISCA member ''Slovenian Sport for All (SUS)'', following the beats of the song “ALE’ O” provided by Sport Malta. Anyone can take part in the FlashMOVE and the aim is to attract as many passers-by as possible to the spectacle and to encourage them to join in.

On the FlashMOVE website (http://flashmove.nowwemove.com/) you will find the resources enabling you to support MOVE Agents (event organisers) from your country. Good practice, communications and event guides are now available, together with promotional materials. We ask you and your MOVE Agents to register your event(s) to help make the numbers count.

By coordinating the FlashMOVE in your country you will contribute to the European dimension of the European Week of Sport. This official event will give you visibility on a local, national and international level, a valuable experience and an opportunity to take part in a pan-European event. Your citizens will be part of a great event and they will engage in physical activity simply by having fun.
