Good Governance in Grassroots Sport academics to be published in peer-reviewed journal
10/12/2015
Following their involvement in the ISCA Good Governance in Grassroots Sport (GGGS) project, Mark Lowther of Cardiff Metropolitan University along with Simone Digennaro and Antonio Borgogni of the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio have had a peer reviewed journal article on the subject accepted for publication. Angela Parry Lowther of Cardiff University also actively contributed to the writing of the paper.
The article is due to be published during Spring 2016 in the Journal of Applied Sport Management and provides a strong academic underpinning to the very practical development and applied nature of the GGGS model and web resource. The authors viewed governance as the philosophy and practice of steering and shaping organisational life and performance. In that endeavour they argue strongly for a clear, simple and flexible approach which honours the requirement for compliance and minimum standards but emphasises the importance of context, the active contribution of all stakeholders and adaptive learning.
