Good Governance for Grassroots Sport Self-Assessment Tool now available
22/08/2013
ISCA’s Good Governance for Grassroots Sport (GGGS) Self Assessment Tool is now available for sports organisations to access online. The tool is an interactive, sports specific resource that is designed to offer organisations insights into the ways in which they operate and to suggest how they can improve their own governance practices. It has been developed over the course of the GGGS project in collaboration with the project’s partners, and with special contributions from the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio (Italy), Semmelweis University - Faculty of PE and Sport Sciences (Hungary) and Cardiff Metropolitan University UWIC (UK).
The Self Assessment Tool takes the user through three steps, allowing them to:
1. Get an overview of the governance issues that exist in grassroots sport
2. Identify specific governance challenges that may exist in their own organisation
3. Prioritise which issues to address first and find further resources that will help them to do so
The tool is presented as an online questionnaire with a checklist format. It is not appropriate or possible for an outside organisation to use the tool to audit another organisations’ performance. The tool relies on self-regulation and self-assessment allowing individual organisations to determine how well they are doing.
Be one of the first 50 organisations to use the Good Governance for Grassroots Sport Self Assessment tool for the chance to win free entry to the Barcelona MOVE Congress from 16-19 October 2013.
