Digital transformation has become essential across many sectors, and grassroots sports sector is no exception. Funded by the EU Erasmus+ programme, project DigiFit’s goal is to ensure that these organisations don’t just keep up with changing times but can thrive in them. Since its start in January 2023, DigiFit has been led by ISCA with partners PRN SI (France), University College Cork (Ireland), IPDJ (Portugal), DGI (Denmark), and EPSI (Belgium). Now, as the DigiFit project draws to a close, the Moving People – Moving Europe conference will serve as a perfect setting to showcase its final achievements, learnings and remaining questions. The dedicated DigiFit workshop, “Fit for the Digital Age: Work Smarter, Improve Performance, Strengthen Community,” will give participants a hands-on opportunity to explore how digitalisation can transform grassroots sport, making it more adaptable, efficient, and resilient.

The DigiFit workshop at the Moving People – Moving Europe conference in Ljubljana is designed to address three main objectives identified by grassroots organisations throughout the project: working smarter, improving performance, and strengthening community. As DigiFit wraps up its 26-month journey, this workshop is the culmination of a unique “Learn and Do” experience that’s been all about empowering the grassroots sports sector for a digital future.

Our project started with the idea that digital tools could bolster resilience across organisations—and we’re eager to share what we’ve discovered along the way. From tools and processes to fostering a change-ready mindset, DigiFit goes beyond tech. It’s about equipping organisations to innovate, connect, and thrive, not just now, but in a digital future full of possibility.

We’ll open with an inspiring keynote on “Digitalisation and Grassroots Sport: What Links Them Both?”, continuing the workshop with unique interactive exercises, fireside panel discussions and expert insights. The next day, as part of the activities organised by ISCA in the framework of the Moving People – Moving Europe conference, the project partners will gather for their last in-person project meeting to discuss the remaining deliverables and activities and conclude the project journey.
